Where it All Started

The Maldives holds a very special place in my heart. It’s where I experienced my first close encounters with an oceanic manta ray and a tiger shark—moments so surreal and magical that I kept finding my way back. Every day in the Indian Ocean feels like an adventure. Wild encounters, shifting currents, endless blues, and the quiet kind of magic that reminds you how alive the ocean truly is. It’s a place that humbles you, excites you, and stays with you long after you leave.

It feels like the right time to finally share these experiences with you. That’s why Maldives Fellas & I have curated this trip—an invitation to explore the ocean, connect with like-minded people, and create memories you’ll carry long after the journey ends.

Things to know about the Maldives

The Maldives was once known mainly as a honeymoon destination—overwater villas and postcard views. Today, it’s also a rising favorite among freedivers and scuba divers, thanks to its rich marine life and breathtaking pelagic encounters. Here, the ocean isn’t just beautiful—it’s alive.

The Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, located southwest of Sri Lanka and India.

It’s made up of around 1,190 coral islands, naturally formed and grouped into 26 atolls, which explains why the sea is never far—because it’s literally everywhere.

Beneath the surface lies one of its greatest treasures: vibrant coral reefs and rich marine biodiversity, home to tropical fish, turtles, reef sharks, manta rays, and other ocean life. Snorkeling and diving aren’t just popular here—they’re part of everyday life.

Maldivian culture is shaped by South Asian, Arab, and African influences. The official language is Dhivehi, and Islamis the predominant religion. When visiting local islands (outside resort areas), modest dress and respect for local customs are essential.
